Roger Matas, senior consultant of Matas & Associates Public Relations, has held many roles in media and communications.

He is a former long-time broadcast journalist, Press Secretary in the Manitoba provincial government and a senior communications consultant at The City of Calgary---a unique combination of experience which provides him with special insights into public and media relations.

He also served as Manager of Strategic Marketing with the Manitoba Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism where he worked to expand the profile of the province in international business circles.

Roger is well known in Manitoba, and Alberta, media and business communities. He played a key media relations role during the 1999 Pan Am Games in Manitoba and has been part of many high profile and award winning projects.

As the leader of a communications team with The City of Calgary he managed high level projects for one of the corporation's largest departments. He worked closely with the mayor and other senior officials. His clients know they can count on him to be there when they need him to achieve the results they want. The media know they can count on him to understand their needs and trust his judgment when he calls with a story idea.
